Bees are beginning to wake up.

The other day in the warm sunshine the bees in all my hives were very active. As the light increases day by day, so the queen will be starting to lay a few eggs, maybe in the low tens each day. That will steadily increase as the weather warms up and the light increases further along with a supply of pollen and nectar from aconites, snowdrops and of course willow.

Before the end of April it is likely that the bees will have started to swarm and that will be my chance to fill up my two empty hives and probably pick up some swarms to give away as well.
