Post-operative Massage Therapy

Sadly here in the UK, massage therapy is not seen on the whole as something that the medical system can make much use of. Yet this study,  demonstrates is use following knee surgery. While a small study, it certainly shows that further research is needed and if replicated could make a significant difference to outcomes for this.

This study did not use essential oils  but it would be interesting to see what difference  say antispasmodic oils like chamomile would make compared with the more stimulating oils more often used by sports massage therapists such as rosemary, ginger or even the capsicum used in some sports preparations.
