USA and North Korea

Like so many I know, I worry about what is happening in the world today. –  Nuclear arms, Climate change, Middle East conflicts and much much more. I also think, “What can I do about this?” How many people think this and come up with the answer, “Not very much.” I don’t know but my guess is that it is the vast majority.

Posting my thoughts here, on Facebook, newspapers and other forums certainly isn’t enough. Neither is writing to politicians to make my views clear. (Some will agree with me while most of the others will just dismiss what I write.” – Not that that stops me!

While it might feel like something very small, I have come to the conclusion that the most important thing I can do is to be mindful in my own communications with others and avoid creating unnecessary conflict. That does not mean being a pushover but it does mean not generating conflict where it isn’t needed and communicating in a way that avoids confusion as so much conflict in the world is based on misunderstanding and fear.

Historically, Russia has been invaded so many times by so many different countries/empires that in the days of the Soviet Union they vowed that never again would this happen. This was a major factor in the arms race that followed WWII.

I also see my work as an aromatherapist as helping to reduce the overall amount of conflict in the world to however small a degree. If I can help others to be more centred and less anxious or depressed, they are less likely to react to things in an irrational way.

Can you imagine Trump having a 90 minute aromatherapy massage and how that might affect his tweets?
