Today I harvested my chilli peppers and as I have lots of flaked dried chilli from previous years, most of it has gone into making chilli oil.
I will use most of this for culinary use but will keep some for use in massage where I really want to stimulate blood flow to the area. However, as some of the varieties are very hot, (2,000,000 Scoville Heat Units) I will not be using this oil undiluted!
To make this oil, just cut the peppers up and fill a jar with them then pour in olive oil till the jar is full. Leave for four to six weeks and then pour off the oil into jars for use. The olive oil coated peppers will still be quite hot and can be used in cooking or making salsa.
